Wow, never heard of such a disease. Smile

Just kidding. But seriously I have never even thought of quitting or not wanting to play my guitar, everyday.

Heres my 5 cents: Play with other musicians every chance you get. Listen to an album you've never heard of and tab it out. Record some of your music that you've written (imply that you have).

Theres tons of stuff out there to play!
(Lol, I think I've even seen a shit that read "So many riffs, so little time" and had a picture of a guitar on it)

The best tip I can give you is to find a GREAT song that you have always wanted to play and learn it. The only way to play guitar is to keep it real. And if you stop playing, even for a little while it can have a profound effect on you.

Never let the music die!

peace

First and foremost, DON"T STOP!!!

I played through middle school, and jr high, and by the time I was 17 starting losing interest, switched to bass, then stopped playing altogether. Now, I'm 29, and have been trying to play again for about 6 months, and realized I have lost EVERYTHING that I had 12 years ago...it is definitely not like riding a bike!

Several tips that work for me:
1)new music-find a genre you like, then try to find other artists in that genre-go to amazon, search for a record you like, then take notice of customer lists that pull up that that album is on-there will be several obscure items you can pull from here. Don't be afraid to try other genres either.

2)learn stuff by ear if at all possible, but don't turn away from finding the tab online. Powertab has really taken off, and there is literally very few songs you couldn't find tabbed out somewhere. It's a good feeling to work through a difficult piece and then be able to nail it.

3)see live music-especially in the genre you like

4)if you don't already have it, save up some $ for your dream guitar. For me it was always the old Kramer Stagemasters, now about 18 years after it was made, I have one, and it is a joy to play and very inspiring.

5)keep in touch-there's probably not a guitar-oriented road block you can experience that someone here hasn't gone through-learn from these guys and don't be afraid to ask-I've learned several valuable lessons here.

Good Luck!
