I am not sure what you mean by "wailing" but I suspect maybe you mean artificial or pinch harmonics. I don't cover those techniques on my site because they are very difficult to explain in words (another reason to get video going on my site...). It is best to have someone show you. Basically it involves hitting the string with the pick and flesh at the same time. It takes much experimentation, but you will find certain positions between the neck pickup and bridge pickup produce different harmonic tones. In my opinion harmonics are one of the collest things about electric guitar!!!

| Pinch harmonics... Different people do them in different ways, when I do them, I hold my pick closer to the tip, and pluck it with the edge of as I pick through the string. To do this effectively, you have to really dig in with the pick. Another way to do it is basically the same thing, but using the index finger of your picking hand. |
