Post subject: What moment did you realize you wanted to play guitar?

Seems most guitarists can pinpoint this question to an exact moment in time. For me, it was after seeing the MTV videos "Breaking the Chains" by Dokken and "Rock You Like a Hurricane" by The Scorpions. I wanted to learn to make those piercing sounds! When I first got a guitar, I was discouraged because I couldn't make those sounds!

| I don't think i would be able to say one specific moment, i think it was tons of moments, i've been wanting to play the guitar for probably 4 years or something, but never looked into lessons. But last year my friend was playing in music class and i asked him to help me get started, and it's been sort of an obsession since then. |

I never really had a specific moment when I wanted to play but, my dad always played and he is really good , I wanted to sound like him and went from there , For electric guitar , the first time I heard zz top I from then on wanted an electric guitar . I got one for my 12th birthday and I have been playing ever since.

Mine was the very first time I saw the movie Back to the Future, when Michael J Fox got on stage and started playing Jonny B Good.
Right then, I knew I wanted to play just like that. I begged and begged, and more begging to my dad to buy me a guitar for my B-day or Christmas. I finally ended up with a cheap Gibson knockoff called a "Mark II" It was great!, lol. |

| One guy did it for me. Mike Mushok! Once I started listening to to his work I had realized that that is what I want to do for a living. He started everything for me. |

| I Think my moment was when I heard Lynyrd Skynyrds album One more from the Road .Way Back When it first came out Screamin Guitars People going crazy . I wore the grooves off that thing. Learning note for note |
