Hi, new here, just joined.
I bought a BC Rich neck and want to fit it on my strat but no holes were drilled so I needed to do that myself.
I used a 2mm drill to drill through the holes in the body into the neck but this has created a problem. The screws will not properly go into the neck and they instead raise the neck off the body by a few millimeters (and the screws will not go fully in).
If anyone knows how to sort this out it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Ray,
Try first putting the screws only in the neck, so you create a track for the screws. Also check is both necks have the same diameter, it sounds like the BC neck could be a bit smaler, so if that is the case try to get also shorter screws, Try getting them in a guitar shop, don't buy harware store stuff, they are weaker.
On a diferent note are the necks of the same scale??? if they are not that may cause a huge intonation problem. If you are not familar with this just count the number of frets.
Have fun!! |
