| Well, been away awhile guys but I'm awful glad to see this site is still alive and well! Took me awhile to remember how I found it in the first place lol. My favorite guitar and I guess the most expensive one I've ever purchased is my Ibanez JS1000 black pearl. I just got her two weeks ago and I have never had so much fun playing a guitar as I have with this one. Awesome, awesome tone and it looks sexy too. My second favorite is a Godin Freeway Classic. I was looking for a strat at the time I bought this one but after trying it out I decided on the Godin, plays like a strat and imo has a more versatile sound range while still maintaining a very reasonable price. |

I was thinking about one of thos Godins, but i would recommend a PRS Santana SE to everyone. its the most playable and probably best thing ive ever played, so this is next on my wish list. Most expensive?
well, i gotta tell you about the lead guitarist im my band's collection. at the age of 14, he owns no less than 22 guitars. 22 GUITARS!!! and these arent cheap things. his collection includes Gibson Les Paul '59 custom shop, Ibanez JEM, a Jackson Dinky with EMG pickups, BC Rich Mockingbird with EMG's, (did include a very expensive Charvel EVH custom), Epiphone Doubleneck, Les Paul Goldtop, various acoustics, an ESP Kirk Hammett, ESP Explorer... the list goes on.
I am fully aware theat the majority of you will think that I am talking BULL, but I swear down that I am not. Honestly. No Joke.
Which leads me to his most expensive guitar that I have played.
A rare, Epiphone Slash Les Paul Classic (you probably know, the red snakepit model with snakepit logo [carved on Gibson model]). Not all that rare, but here in England he payed the grand sum of £7000 (about $12000 USD). And i can officially tell you that it is not all it is cracked up to be.

It's a really great guitar spam. As I said, I tried alot of Strats prior to buying the godin. I fully intended and expected to buy a strat but happened to notice the Freeway in a local shop here in town so I tried it out and bought it on the spot and forgot about the strat (at least for the time being). It plays alot like a Strat, same feel, neck is the same and you can get all the strat tones but it's H-S-H pickups so I find it to be more versatile overall. Basically it can sound and play just like a Strat but it's alot cheaper while still reflecting a very high standard of craftsmanship. They are also Handcrafted in Canada and assembeled in the US. Mine has a Silver Maple body with poplar wings and a Maple neck. I guess you'd have to really try one out yourself to appreciate it fully but I have nothing bad about it to say at all. They also have some newer 05 models that are very nice. One incorporates a Floyd Rose Trem I believe.
They are also a very nice looking guitar as well. |

I'm looking forward to buying an Ernie Ball/Music Man Axis Sport (older model, the one before the super sport). Played it a few times in the shop and it's absolutely awesome. Too bad it's in metallic purple, so i'm gonna take it to a paint shop and give it a custom paint job, that would totally rule |

I own a Parker Nitefly SA- Parkers are unreal guitars whose unique playablitly is matched by no one- there are other great playing guitars out there, but when you play a Parker, particlarly a Fly/Nitefly, you know it. Some complain that the Dimarzio "custom wound" pickups in them are dull and streile sounding, but I think that they are good enough in most cases- they may not have as much "personality" as, say, some Seymour Duncans, not the same "vibe", but I really do not mind them- I actually like their tone a good deal. Mixed with the Piezo system, it makes for incredible tones. The bolt on neck is incredible, with the most playable neck joint on a bolt on I have ever encoutnered.
One of the few companies out there who are justified in their $1,000+ price tag on most instruments. |

It's been ages since anyone posted here!
Thought i might as well tell you about my current guitar setup. It's real cheap stuff mostly, but it sounds pretty gud.
Here goes:
MAIN GUITARS (all stock): Jackson DK2 Dinky, Paul Reed Smith Santana SE II, Fender Standard Stratocaster
PEDALS and AMP (in order of pedal chain):
Jim Dunlop Crybaby Classic Wah
|
Digitech Bad Monkey overdrive----------------Boss DS1 Distortion
| |
| Danelectro Chicken Salad Vibrato
| |
Behringer AB100 Intrument/Amp selector ------------|
|
Marshall MG100DFX 1x12 Combo
The Digitech overdrive has 2 outputs, 1 to a mixer and 1 to an amp. The amp input goes straigh into 1 input on the Behringer switcher, and the mixer output feeds the DS1 and the Danelectro. The output of the Danelectro goes into the other input of the Behringer.
I also have a Peavey Milestone Bass which i use occasionally, but no bass amp.
Basically, thats it. Ill try and get some photos of it all posted later. |
