Yeah, I tested it and this one works... it's worth hearing/seeing.

If you like that, check video out:

Check out JerryC, the original arranger of that version of Canon in D, at his website. Incredible stuff. He reminds me of a hybrid of Herman Li with a bit of Satriani mixed in, sometimes even hinting at more Tony McAlpinish stuff. He's not quite as technically proficient as, say, Petrucci, but then again, who is?

I don't really like either... In each case they just don't seem to have much articulation and phrasing. Technically, they seem to rely on sweep picking, which as far as technique goes is overrated. I would have been way more impressed to see more interesting lines being played all over the fretboard - more nonlinear playing if you know what I mean. But articulation and phrasing will solidify for them in several years I am sure after which point they will definately be mature players.

later,

brian

Interesting argument- I can definietly see where you are coming from (in terms of sweep picking being overused), but it is refreshing to see soemthing online that isn't pointless "shredding". I can't wait to see JerryC in the years to come as he develops his guitar playing. He really could mature into a really terrific guitarist.
