Post subject: Recording Tutorial - What do you want to see?  PostPosted: Aug 28, 2003 - 03:28 AM

I am working on a Recording Tutorial and wanted to see if there are certain topics you want me to cover. The subject is so vast, I am tryying to get an idea about the lelvel of detail people want. For instance, do you just want to learn about the basics of getting sound onto the computer, or do you want to see a tutorial using an actual software progrm? Do you want to learn about how stuff like compression, limiting, and eq fit in (which might be beyond the scope of the tutorial!)?

I think it would be best to do the tutorial in parts, e.g ;

Part 1 - Getting sound onto your computer, and the software to help you do it.

Part 2 - Mixing (or whatever you think would come next)

Etc, etc...

And i think you should keep it fairly basic, not too detailed but just enough to understand things well and stuff.

Hi there, I was just about to start trying to record, and I found out that it's hard to find information about the software I need, hardware, how to connect things and so on.

Then there is one thing that I can't find anything about, that is to record and have the backing track (drums, bass, etc) playing in the meantime so I can keep the timings on.
