If I could change anything about this site, it would be to make it so that there is only ONE user profile. But as some of you have probably noticed, there are two profiles - one for the site, and one for the forum. Fortunately, there is only ONE login and registration. But the profile thing can be confusing.
Basically, this site is made possible by two open source initiatives. One is called Postnuke (a so called Content Management System that provides for all this site's capability). It has its own user profile style. And the other side of this site is the forum, made possible by PNphpbb2. It has its own profile also. Some of the info is shared, but in general they are separate.
For now, just worry about the forum profile. There is a link at the top of the forum. Over the next year or so, I am sure the people that develop these open source packages will integrate everything together.
--------------------------
Stuff to put in your profile: Use the signature block to include your influences, link to your homepage, audio clips, etc. Soon, I will make it so that there are separate sections of the profile for that stuff.
You can also upload little images that get displayed by your name. They can be no bigger than 80 by 80.
That's all I really have to say about that for now. I ensure you the user profiles will become more useful down the road.
Later,
