| As a registered member of Guitar Dreams, you have the benefit of adding your own lessons and exercises. So if you have something you want to teach, or if you just want to show off your mind-boggling talents, then this tutorial will guide you through the process. By the time you have finished, you will understand the steps involved in creating your own professional looking lessons and exercises.
Before you get started, you need to know what kind of software is needed. As a minimum, you will probably want to include tablature with your exercises. There are a variety of tab programs out there, but my program of choice is PowerTab. Powertab is free and generates very professional looking tab. You can get PowerTab at the following url:
PowerTab
If you plan on adding audio clips, then you will of course need recording software. Creating mp3's is beyond the scope of this tutorial. But I highly suggest you learn how to create them, because let's face it - when people go to your lesson, they want to hear what your exercises and riffs sound like!
Before you create your lesson and exercises, you should get all your lesson material prepared. This includes tablature, audio and MIDI. In the next couple sections, you will see how to create tablature with PowerTab and how to export a MIDI file directly from PowerTab.
