Rhapsody - The Basics
Rhapsody
is a digital audio and video streaming service with over 2,000,000 songs to
choose from in every imaginable genre from rock to folk and everything in between.
So no matter what your guitar playing tastes are, you will find more than enough
songs to keep you endlessly busy!
The key to getting the most out of Rhapsody
is understanding its powerful user
interface. While you can use Rhapsody
through the Rhapsody
web site, it is far
easier to use the standalone Rhapsody
aplication, since it is much
faster and responsive compared to the web interface.
When first launching the Rhapsody
application, you will see the
Home Page which is the starting point for exploring Rhapsody's 2,000,000+ songs
.
You can browse through a variety of genres, sub genres and yet more sub genres.
For example, selecting the Rock genre, takes you to a list of all the categories
that fall under Rock (Alternative, Classic Rock, Metal, etc). If you then select
Metal, you will see a further breakdown of Metal categories.
If you start out by selecting Jazz, you will see a similar breakdown
by Jazz categories (Fusion, Big Band, etc). Likewise with Blues (Chicago, Delta,
Memphis, etc), As you can see, Rhapsody
opens you up to an incredible variety
of music!
In the next section, Music
At Your Fingertips, we will go into more detail on the Rhapsody
interface.
